my name is Natalie Linda and I am a self-taught illustrator and author from Düsseldorf, Germany. I love to take my audience to an imaginative and peaceful world where everything feels cozy and slow-paced. Since my childhood, I have been inspired by the wonders of nature, Japanese culture and a warm feeling of nostalgia.
After completing my master's degree in modern and contemporary history I worked in the museum sector for several years. Although I liked this work, I always felt a great desire to make art my profession. So in 2020 I stepped forward and founded the small label nalipō, under which I designed eco-friendly stationery and illustrated commissions for private and corporate clients. Some years later the embroidery artist Katherine Lopez and I teamed up to self-publish our first picture book »Zusammen schmeckt alles am besten« in 2024. This marked the starting point of a new career path which hopefully leads me further into the publishing world.
Besides illustration and writing I developed a deep passion for pottery and textile art. Making things by hand grounds me when I feel overwhelmed by the daily hussle and bussle. Especially in times of mass production creating Tiny Originals for people to enjoy holds a lot of meaning for me. So today nalipō has shifted from a stationary label to a more personal specialty shop for slowly crafted art. The Tiny Originals are companied by digital products such as sewing instructions or coloring pages that will hopefully support its customers by getting in touch with their own creativity.
Oh, before these rablings go on forever, I want to end it here with a quote from my favorite novel: Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maude Montgomery. Anne's imagination and romantic view of the world will always have a special place in my heart.
